er Mann ist eine lebende Legende und seit über 35 Jahren im Geschäft. Der Beatles Song "With A Little Help From My Friends" verhalf ihm zum weltweiten Durchbruch, und seine dazugehörige Live-Performance auf dem Woodstock-Festival ist mittlerweile legendär. So legendär, dass Joe Cocker sogar der einzige Künstler des Original-Billings war, der zum 25-jährigen Jubiläum des Festivals für einen Auftritt eingeladen wurde. Noch immer zählt seine Stimme unter Kritikern zu den besten ‚weißen’ Stimmen Großbritanniens. Kaum ein anderer Künstler schafft es wie Joe Cocker, ausgewählten Coverversionen völlig neues Leben einzuhauchen und den Songs seine ganz persönliche Note zu geben. Auch wenn man die Songs schon tausendmal gehört hat (wie z.B. "Summer In The City"), lässt Cocker diese Songs ganz neu entstehen und wirken. Und genau so setzt er auch mit vorher weniger bekannten Songs (wie z.B. Leonard Cohen’s "First We Take Manhattan" oder Connor Reeves "My Father’s Son") neue Standards. Aber auch seine eigenen Songs werden schnell zu Klassikern, einfach deshalb, weil keiner sie so singen kann wie Joe Cocker selbst.
Im Frühjahr 2005 war er das letzte Mal in Deutschland auf Tour und begeisterte fast 200.000 Fans bei seinen Konzerten. Im März 2007 ist die Veröffentlichung eines neuen Studio-Albums geplant und im Oktober wird Joe Cocker für 18 Konzerte wieder auf Deutschland-Tour kommen, um all seine unvergesslichen Songs auf seine unvergleichliche Art live zu präsentieren. Vorher tritt er bei einem Open Air Konzert in Eckernförde auf.
